- How do I add an Apple Watch recording to a note? On your iPhone, open the Watch tab, tap a recording and choose Append to note, then pick the notebook and note and tap Append. Any #TimeTags added on the Watch come across with it.
- Can I use third-party cloud service providers? No. Noted syncs through iCloud only. Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive can be used to import files into a note, but not to sync your notes between devices.
- How do I delete an Apple Watch recording? On the Watch, open the recording, tap ⋯ and choose Delete, or swipe left on it in the list. On the iPhone, open the Watch tab, touch and hold the recording and tap Delete. Deleted recordings can't be recovered.
- Does Noted support URL schemes? Yes. The noted:// scheme can open the app, create a note or notebook, or start recording, so Shortcuts and other apps can drive Noted. Parameters such as title and notebook-title are passed in the URL.
- How does Noted work? Noted records audio while you type and timestamps every line to the recording. Tap a line or a #TimeTag later to hear exactly what was said at that moment. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro and syncs through iCloud; Apple Watch records and sends recordings to your iPhone.
- How do I lock and unlock a note with a password? On iPhone and iPad, touch and hold the note and tap Lock Note, then set a password or turn on Face ID or Touch ID; on macOS, click the Lock icon next to the trash icon and choose Lock note. To unlock, touch and hold the note and tap Remove Lock. Lock status syncs to all your devices, and a forgotten password cannot be recovered.
- How do I resend a recording from my Apple Watch? On the Watch, open the stuck recording, tap ⋯ at the top right and tap Resend. Keep both devices charged and close together while it transfers.
- How do I set up themes, fonts and date formats? Themes, fonts and date formats are under Settings on iOS and macOS. Pick a space theme, change the editor font and size, and choose how dates appear in your notes; each choice syncs across your devices.
- How do I share a note or recording? On iPhone and iPad, tap ⋯ → Share and choose Share via Web, PDF, TXT or M4A. On a Mac, click the Share button next to ⋯. A PDF keeps your formatting; the web link lets someone read the note in a browser without the app.
- How do I undo and redo changes in a note? Tap the curved Undo and Redo arrows on the editor toolbar (iOS), or use Edit → Undo and Redo or ⌘Z and ⇧⌘Z on the Mac. Undo covers text, formatting and sketches within the current session.
- What is a Timestamp? A timestamp links a word to the exact moment in the recording it was typed. Tap any timestamp to play the audio from that point; touch and hold one to edit or remove it.
