When you listen back to a recording, you tap your notes a lot: a timestamp here, a #TimeTag there. It’s easy for one of those taps to land in the text instead, bring up the keyboard and leave a stray letter in your notes. Reading Mode locks the text while you read and listen.
How do I turn on Reading Mode?
- Open the note and tap ⋯ at the top right.
- Tap Reading Mode (the glasses icon).
To turn it off, tap ⋯ and Reading Mode again. It also switches off when you open another note, so every note opens ready to edit.
What can I still do in Reading Mode?
- Scroll through the note.
- Play the recording, skip back or forward, and change the playback speed.
- Tap a timestamp or a #TimeTag to hear that moment.
What does Reading Mode stop?
- Typing, selecting and formatting text.
- Starting a new recording.
- Moving a timestamp, drawing in a sketch, or resizing a photo.
Note: Reading Mode is available on iPhone and iPad. It can’t be turned on while you’re recording, and archived notes are already read-only.
Why does my note say “Read Only”?
If a bar at the bottom of the note says Read Only and Subscription expired, that isn’t Reading Mode. It appears when Noted+ isn’t active: you can still open and read your notes, but not edit them. Tap the bar to see the plans.
