What is Live Transcription?
Live Transcription writes every word as it’s said while you record. Instead of racing to type, you can stay focused and follow the conversation. When the recording ends, you have a full transcript you can search.
How do I use it?
- Open a note and hit record.
- Select Start to begin transcribing live.
- Every word appears on screen as it’s said.
- Stop the recording when you’re done. The transcript is saved with the note.
Do I need to keep the app open?
Yes. Keep Noted open on your screen while Live Transcription runs.
Can I take notes while it transcribes?
Yes. Add notes at any time, so ideas get written down as they come.
Can I search the transcript?
Yes. Open the transcript, tap the search icon and type a word. Matches are highlighted, and the arrows move between them. This works on all transcripts, new and existing.
How is it different from AI Transcribe?
Live Transcription happens in the moment, while you record. AI Transcribe works after you’ve recorded or imported audio. Dictation types your own voice straight into the note.
Which devices is it available on?
iPhone, iPad and Mac running iOS 26, iPadOS 26 or macOS 26 and later. Update to the latest version from the App Store or Mac App Store.
